Online registration for various undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes for the 2026 July-August session (Intake-I) at SGOU is open and extended until 5 October 2026. Candidates can apply online via the online registration portal.

SGOU offers 31 UGC-DEB recognised programmes in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) mode for this cycle, including 10 three-year UG programmes, 6 four-year undergraduate programmes (FYUGP), and 14 two-year PG programmes.

January Session Admission Status

SGOU conducts admission cycles twice every year, corresponding to the January and July sessions.

Step-by-Step Online Application Procedure

All applicants must complete their submission online. Offline or direct paper applications are not accepted. Candidates must possess an active Indian mobile number and email address before starting.   1. Go to the SGOU admission portal and click ‘UG Programmes’ or ‘PG Programmes’ to select your desired programme.
  2. Fill in basic personal information and contact details to complete profile registration.
  3. Navigate to the qualification tab and add essential academic details (10th and Plus 2 for UG; 10th, Plus 2, and Degree for PG) and save each qualification.
  4. Upload certificates for each added qualification, followed by a passport-sized photograph, scanned signature, ID proof, Transfer Certificate, and caste/income certificates (if applying for concessions).
  5. Choose up to three preferred Learner Support Centres (LSCs) located across Kerala.
  6. Select an available counseling slot for physical certificate verification at the designated Regional Centre.
  7. Complete the first-semester and admission fee payment using the online payment gateway.

Fee Payment Modes and Concessions

SGOU accepts all fee payments strictly through its online payment gateway. Neither the university nor its support centres accept cash or direct offline payments.

  • SC, ST, and OEC category applicants seeking fee concessions must apply on the E-Grantz portal and upload community and income certificates on the admission portal.
  • Candidates claiming concessions must produce original supporting documents during physical verification, or full fees will be charged.
  • Candidates seeking refund of fees after non-admission must submit a separate online application on the admission portal with their own valid bank account details.

Document Verification and Admission Confirmation

Submitting an online application does not guarantee admission. Final admission is confirmed only after the physical verification of original eligibility documents at the assigned verification centre.
